వ్యర్థాల (గార్బేజ్) నిర్వహణలో సమర్థంగా వ్యవహరించిన నగరాలకు కేంద్ర పట్టణ వ్యవహారాల శాఖ మే 19న ర్యాంకింగ్స్‌ను ప్రకటించింది. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 6 నగరాలకు 5 స్టార్, 65 నగరాలకు 3 స్టార్, 70 నగరాలకు వన్ స్టార్‌ను ఇచ్చారు.
చార్‌ధామ్ యాత్రను సులభతరం చేయడంలో భాగంగా బోర్డర్ రోడ్స్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ చంబా టన్నెల్‌ను నిర్మించింది. చార్‌ధామ్ మహమార్గ్ వికాస్ పరియోజనలో భాగంగా నేషనల్ హైవే 94పై రిషికేశ్- దరాసుల మధ్య చంబా వద్ద 440 మీటర్ల పొడవుతో ఈ టన్నెల్‌ను నిర్మించింది. 2020 అక్టోబర్ నుంచి ఇది ప్రయాణికులకు అందుబాటులోకి రానుంది.
బిహార్‌లోని పాట్నా స్కూల్ విద్యార్థి, భారత సంతతి ఆర్థికవేత్త, సింగపూర్‌కు చెందిన అబ్బాస్ ఝాను దక్షిణాసియాలో వాతావరణ మార్పులు, విపత్తు నిర్వహణ పరిశీలకుడిగా ప్రపంచ బ్యాంకు నియమించింది. ఇండియాలో 12 ఏళ్ల పాటు IASగా సేవలందించిన అబ్బాస్ 2001 నుంచి ప్రపంచ బ్యాంకు‌లో కొనసాగుతున్నారు.
